Chelsea Conaboy is an obsessive observer of people and relationships with a passion for narrative storytelling. She has told the stories of refugees working to adjust to a new world, the family of a soldier killed in war and a mother and son’s struggle to remain a family.

She worked with photographer Preston Gannaway on a two-year project documenting the life of a mother fighting aggressive liver cancer and the challenges her family faced in redefining itself after her death. Gannaway earned a 2008 Pulitzer Prize for feature photography for her work on the project.

Chelsea studied journalism, along with Spanish and international affairs, at the University of New Hampshire. After graduating in 2004, she was a summer fellow at the Poynter Institute for Media Studies. She has been a reporter for the Concord Monitor in New Hampshire for five years. In addition to working on narrative projects, she covers politics and the environment.
